For those who like to spice things up, this bircher is a departure from the hot porridges and lends itself to the warmer months. Pepperberry, which grows in abundance in Tasmania, gives the chai blend its distinctive flavour. The ingredients create a creamy bircher texture, similar to overnight oats.

Ingredients

golden flaxseed meal, hemp seeds (24%), sesame seeds (28%), sunflower seeds (28%), coconut flour, white chia seeds (6%), chai spice blend* (1%)

*chai spice blend  - pepperberry, cinnamon, allspice, ginger, cloves, cardamom.

Preparation instructions

makes one serve

Add 2 heaped tablespoons of bircher to a container with a lid. I use a glass jar. Add ½ cup of liquid, water, juice or milk of choice*. Add 1 small apple grated or ½ a large apple grated. Stir contents and place lid on jar. Refrigerate overnight.

Spoon bircher into bowl and top with yogurt of choice. Serve immediately.

*My go to bircher combo - apple juice, grated apple, coconut yogurt.

We encourage you to experiment.
